Dear members,
We would like to clarify one situation that is troubling our members.
Our member Consolidated Shipping Services Group, established in UAE and member of THLG the last 10 years is the only accepted member responsible for this country.
In Almaty’s Conference in October 2018, we were happy to present for membership in Syria and finally accept International for Transit & Transport, established in Syria. But after discussion with the THLG members present at this Conference, his membership is re-directed from Syria to UAE but with a focus on the Syrian market due to restrictions and other problems that Syria faces at the moment. Also some members have raised potential political and financial difficulties when cooperating directly with Syrian companies so a change of country of origin was decided by Ex Com as necessary for safe transactions. UAE was chosen because IFTT has an office also there for such purposes.
This re-direction was made clearly for protecting all our members from possible political restrictions they might face when addressing Syria directly.
Consolidated Shipping Services Group continues to be our ally in UAE and International for Transit & Transport is our new ally in Syria. THLG is happy to have both of them on board!
When the problems of Syria are finally over and no country has restrictions against them, then the membership will be clear again and International for Transit & Transport will be shown openly as our Syrian member.
