Dear THLG fellow Members,
last month of the year brings us an opportunity to recap all that we’ve done in 2022 that simply can’t be missed, so let’s get right to it!
First, I’d like to thank Mr. Colin D’Abreu, Rhenus Project Logistics – USA, for assuming the position of Treasurer of THLG and to compliment him, for the exceptional work he’s been doing for the Group. With the help of Mr. Jos Willems, he was pivotal when we were audited by the Dutch Authorities this year.
THLG started off with the last edition of the online panel, “Let’s Socialize”, with Mr. Gulati from Total Movements, India. As our remote gatherings are not all meant for fraternizing, we also learned a lot during an excellent masterclass on “Heavy Transport Trailers in Worldwide Operations” with Mr. Harold Vorsteveld from Broshuis, our Member in the Netherlands.
Still in the “tech zone”, our Group had a very special achievement early this year: the launching of our new THLG 365 App. Our main goal, as with almost every initiative, was to promote the beneficial cooperation between Members.
THLG also ran the campaign ” Help Ukraine”, focusing on humanitarian aid for the victims of the war. The funds were raised and donated to a reliable institution recommended by our Member in Ukraine, Antonov Airlines. We thank all THLG Members who helped in this noble cause. We hope the peace flag will be raised soon.
Soon after, we were back to in-person meetings, and our ExCom got together in Amsterdam to discuss and deliberate the Group’s next steps, always looking ahead with the greater good in mind. But this wasn’t nearly the only time we saw each other in 2022. THLG’s Members had remarkable attendance at multiple exhibits around the world.
Speaking of success, during our 66th Conference in Rotterdam, Holland together with Breakbulk Europe and 67th Conference in Antwerp, Belgium, together with AntwerpXL (where we assured a free booth), we could look into the Group’s development and exchange priceless information through case studies, masterclasses, networking and talks.
And, on our 35th Anniversary we had the honor to have dinner with THLG’s past presidents: Mr. Luis Branco, Mr. Emre Eldner and long-valued Members, like Mr. Thomas Parlow and even one of its founders: Mr. Rolf Riedl . Very special moments and amazing opportunities to celebrate our legacy and keep up the good work with #PowerInUnity.
The truth is, as redundant as this may sound, that the Members are what keeps our Group together. And, in 2022, I was euphoric to see your companies’ receiving awards and taking part in so many exhibitions and formidable projects.
Last but not least, we would like to give the warmest welcome to our new affiliates in 2022: Vesta Polska, from Poland; Altius SA, from Bolivia; Samer International Doo, from Croatia; and Grindrod Freight Services, from Mozambique. I hope your arrival is as exciting for you as it is for us, who are more than happy to have you as part of THLG!
What a year it has been! I’m looking forward to the next one and all the interesting challenges it may bring. I’m positive 2023 will be full of great accomplishments for all of us, especially if we stay strong and stay together.
Wishing you all cheerful holidays,
Murilo Caldana
President and Business Development Officer
