THLG Members, As we close almost two months of 2017, I wanted to provide a quick view of the coming year’s event for THLG. The EXCOM has been challenged with some technical issues, however we have been able to work past these issues to continue progress for the members. So, we’d like to share a few items we think you’ll have interest in. “THLG Meeting April 2017” Related to this, plans are well underway for this year’s THLG meeting in April 2017. I believe we will have four new candidates making presentations for membership. An agenda for the 2017 THLG meeting is being work on and should be ready for publishing soon. You might see a little shift in timing of some our events. There is no intention of dropping any of the normal THLG events, but structuring so more members can attend. In other THLG business, there is a proposed change to the bylaws. This will be presented to the group and brought before the membership for a vote. A minor change to Article 5, regarding Honorary Membership. Additionally, we are planning time for round table discussion. In the mean time we asking for ideas from the membership. We are hopeful to see topics that concern the group. These session are meant to be of benefit for the members. “Breakbulk Europe 2017” BB Europe dates are 24 April 17 thru 26 April 17. Marlies Osmers has worked diligently for the group, to make the THLG stand shine during the April event. We have expanded our stand to 22 separate areas under the THLG umbrella. We have all the members occupying these areas within the stand. The 2018 Breakbulk show will shift to Germany. The ECXOM are working to secure meeting and hotel accommodations as soon as the dates and location in confirmed. “THLG Turning 30 in 2017” We are working forward to having our celebration of 30 years of THLG during our fall conference. The intention of having this during our annual fall conference would be to allow more spouse’s attend. It’s seems we are not so distracted by the daily grind of BB Europe too. The EXCOM is considering a few locations and will make recommendations to proceed very soon. Our early action needs to be taken, to only secure a venue, but to also secure favorable hotel rates. The working dates for this event are October / November 2017, more to come on this. “In Closing” Your EXCOM Members past and present have brought this group to where we are now. We could be where we are now without the care, passion and leadership these good people have shared with us. I would encourage each one to consider becoming involved at this EXCOM level. There will opportunities to serve when current EXCOM members complete their terms. I’d encourage you to consider serving when the opportunity presents itself.
