THLG Members, I wanted to take a moment and provide a status report of the THLG post Antwerp. The minutes of the Antwerp meeting are completed now and being review by the EXXCOM members. We’ll have them posted on the web site in the coming days. Listed below are a few items of interest for the group. Regarding our past conference I’d like to congratulate the members of the EXXCOM. Reinstated were Emre Eldener and Luis Duran. We added two additional EXXCOM members this year, It’s clear already that they are asset to the group. New EXXCOM members Elisabeth Cosmatos and Iris Müllejans . Thank you for your past service and for your willingness to serve the group moving forward. THLG Meeting 2017: Our meeting seemed to be well attended with good interaction between the members. We had six presentations for membership, four new companies and two companies that restructured under a new company name. The following companies presented and all were accepted during the THLG meeting: ANTONOV AIRLINES , BROSHUIS, EGYPTIAN GLOBAL LOGISTICS S.A.E., FRITS KROON, VESTA LOGISTC COMPANY Ltd and NOSTOKONEPALVELU Of FINLAND. Welcome and congratulations to all! Fall Meeting 2017: (celebrating 30 years’ of service) The EXXCOM is getting close to securing a hotel in Cape Town for our Fall meeting. This meeting also is a celebration, marking 30 years’ of the THLG. We want it to be special for the members and for your family members. The meetings are still necessary, but will be held to a minimum so we can enjoy this great location. More to come of the host hotel and the THLG hosted events. Round Table Groups: Regarding the round tables, it seems like this was a worthwhile event. Once the information is compiled we’ll share this with the four group leaders for further actions. I heard a lot of common interest /goals being shared. From these common interest /goals we can use this to benefit the group, hopefully to better serve one another. This information will be distributed shortly after the results are processed. Breakbulk 2017: I believe that once again that we all had success during this year’s conference. The attendance overall was a little less than the preceding year. The planning required to pull off an event for our group takes many hours of preparation, coordination and hours of dedication. I recognize this. I’m very thankful for all of the efforts of Marlies Osmers, she puts in countless hours making this easy for us. Additionally Ms. Lizy de Voz and Ms. Marlies Willems, assisted on-site during the conference. A heartfelt thanks to each for taking such good care of everyone and your extra ordinary efforts to make this happen. Breakbulk 2018: We’ve secured a hotel in Bremen for the next Breakbulk Europe Conference. The hotel will be the Swissotel Hotel. We have a signed contract with them with a number of rooms reserved for our THLG members. The meet and greet on Sunday and informal dinner on Sunday have been booked the ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT. The formal dinner will be on Monday will be within the hotel itself. It should be noted the Juergen & Marlies Osmers made all of the arrangements on THLG’s behalf, a really outstanding job! Regarding our stand for BBE 2018, Marlies Osmers is working on the floor plan for Bremen, the THLG stand will be even larger than last year’s in Antwerp. Marlies is working as well to insure that our members with stand-alone stands will be located adjacent to the main THLG stand. By-laws Update: The proposed by laws have been review by the EXXCOM committee and I believe we are at the point of making them available to the membership for review. If you remember they were presented in our Antwerp meeting. The changes are minor in stature. The proposed changes are as discussed during the Antwerp meeting. Please remember that the by-laws will be voted on by the members during the Fall meeting in Cape Town.
