Dear All, Breakbulk Events & Media, ITE Group Transport and Logistics Business, organizers of Breakbulk Europe 2018 are also undertaking their educational outreach program during Breakbulk Europe 2018. As part of the Breakbulk Europe 2018 educational outreach to university students, the organizers plan to hold a ½ day series of educational classroom provided by industry experts. They will have four topics to include items such as “The World of Breakbulk and Project Cargo” – an introduction to projects and breakbulk; A project cargo case study to demonstrate the coordination required among companies to successfully bring a project move to completion; An interesting perspective on transport companies; and a session from a recent grad (5 – 10 years finished) on Lessons Learned since the Grad was out and what students should focus on. In the afternoon we plan to organize guided tours of the Exhibition Hall for the students. Each tour would stop at four or five stands – forwarder, port/terminal, packer, equipment operator and carrier – land or water for a more detailed explanation of what the company does, its customers and comments about apprenticeships/internships. Breakbulk Events and Media anticipates about 200 students or so to participate. Tours would need to be in groups of five – eight students so that exhibitors are not overwhelmed. So they would be looking for about 40 tour guides. The following schools are anticipated to join in the educational outreach program, Jacobs University, University of Applied Science Bremen, University of Applied Science Bremerhaven, University of Bremen, BVL Campus. So here is why I am writing all of this to you. Breakbulk Events & Media needs tour guides who are knowledgeable in the project cargo movement and who are willing to take the 40 or so groups to exhibitor stands, answer any of their questions and otherwise introduce our particular field in the forwarding business, port operation, insurance, equipment manufacturers and etc. to them. Without any question, as a member of THE HEAVY LIFT GROUP you are all uniquely qualified to be a tour guide and I hope that this will interest all of you. Please feel free to name as many guides from your individual companies as you feel will be able to assist in guiding young upcoming professionals in the field in which you are active. I hope that THE HEAVY LIFT GROUP will be able to provide these 40 guides to Breakbulk Events & Media. Kindly do communicate directly with Elizabeth Wetzel at Breakbulk Media & Events. Elizabeth’s e-mail is [email protected]. I would appreciate if you could reply to her by August 10. I appreciate you copying me ([email protected]) so that I know how many tour guides will come from THE HEAVY LIFT GROUP and if needed I will write to other parties to fill any remaining spaces, which I believe will not be necessary considering the strength of THE HEAVY LIFT GROUP. Best regards Juergen Osmers
