The Heavy Lift Group member FOX Brasil, has coordinated a shipment of a complete water and wastewater treatment station, from Piracicaba/São Paulo, Brazil, till Rio Haina port, Domenican Republic.
The investment is part of the Monte Grande project, on the Yaque del Sur River, near Monte Grande, Barahona province, southwestern Dominican Republic. This project involves the construction of a dam for the use of water resources in the lower basin of the Yaque del Sur River, and the development of irrigation infrastructure, which will regulate the flow of the river and optimize the use of its waters, with the aim of improve the supply for human consumption steadily. It will also expand the area under irrigation in 301,150ha, ensure irrigation irrigated 405,665ha currently precarious and intermittent, increase agriculture production and help control flooding. The dam is part of the Monte Grande Multipurpose Project.
The water and wastewater treatment station was installed by the EPC Company Andrade Gutierrez, for the safety and health of the workers there.
