Egyptian Global Logistics subsidiary of the “Kadmar Group” welcomed 40 postgraduate students from the Sorbonne University in France, yesterday, whom had visited EGL yard, as the major local freight forwarding and logistics provider in Egypt , in an inspection tour that was organized for the Sorbonne University students within the company premises in king Marriout, Alexandria, Egypt.

The students also attended an introductory symposium to learn about the activities of EGL for sea & air freight within a master’s thesis programme prepared for Sorbonne University students on international transport logistics through a case study of shipping activities in Egypt.

Eng. Medhat El Kady, Vice Chairman of Kadmar Group welcomed the students, emphasized that the company is proud of the Sorbonne students’ choice in choosing to visit Egypt, and EGL in particular to get acquainted with its several logistics services and heavy lift activities, given that EGL is a pioneer in this field and is and the most growing in North Africa and Middle East region.

Eng. El Kady gave a presentation, laying out a brief of the company, as well as, the warehousing and project activities the company offers.                                           

Eng. El Kady added that EGL has a wide network of coverage within North Africa & Middle East region in the field of project management and in transporting goods to neighboring countries through the company’s fleet of trucks of which EGL owns 250 different types of trucks and hydraulic modulars . Adding to this that EGL is now certified as an economic operator (AEO) golden list by the Egyptian Customs Authority. An Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) is an internationally recognized quality mark that acknowledges that your business role in the international supply chain is safe and has customs control procedures that meet EU standards.

He also mentioned that there is an ambitious plan to expand the trucking fleet during the upcoming period in order to meet the increasing demand of international trucking activities.

The Sorbonne students had concluded their visit by also attending to the Suez canal Authority, Egyptian Ministry of Transport, Alexandria Port Authority, Egypt air Cargo, Egyptian National Railway ENR M, CMA CGM and Arab Academy for Science & Technology AAST.
