Egyptian Global Logistics, the Egyptian-based transportation and logistics giant, has managed to move the longest beam ever moved inside Cairo city, which has more than 20.5 million inhabitants.

The 75 meters length, 135 tons weights, 3.5 meters high were moved by EGL skilled crew by using hydraulic modular turntables 16 axles lines per each modular from Alexandria city to Cairo 5th Settlement to fly over the monorail line.

The beam, 75 meters long, weighing 135 tons, 3.5 meters high, was moved by a qualified EGL crew using hydraulic modular turntables with 16 axles in each modular from Alexandria city to the Cairo 5th Settlement to fly over the monorail line.

Beam length: 75 m

Beam width 1.3 m

Beam height 3.5 m

Beam weight: 135 tons

The main challenge was the very limited time to install the beams due to the road closure during the holy month of Ramadan and the moving with such a gigantic load in the heavy traffic of Cairo, one of the most heavily trafficked cities in the world.

With this move, EGL broke the previous record registered in its name in November 2021, when it transported parts of Adly Mansour main station 17 meters wide and 63 meters long.
