Leif entered the seagoing service as a cadet in 1996 until he made captain. Hes joined Möller Survey Marine in 2013 and from 2019 he is the company's CEO.

Tell us about Möller Survey Marine. Who owns the company?

Möller Survey Marine is a family owned leading marine and cargo survey provider with more than 50 years of experience in the field of marine surveying.

Where are your offices located?

We provide offices in Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven and Bremerhaven.

With Bremerhaven being our headquarters and the capability to carry out our surveys all over the world by own staff or with our global network of qualified and experienced surveyors.

What is your academic and professional background?

The team consists of graduated nautical, technical or logistical engineers with different areas of expertise. Extensive practical experience and continuous training of our employees enable us to offer a wide range of services in shipping and transportation to our customers.

Which is Möller's specialty and service range?

Our range of services comprises marine related services such as marine and cargo surveys, consulting for cargo securing, ascertainment of damage, crisis management and consulting.

We have specialized in heavy cargo / break bulk cargo and offer a complete 24/7 service for our customers.

When are your services strongly recommended?

Services such as Pre-loading and Condition Surveys are recommended to be carried out whenever it comes to a transfer of risk for the cargo.

Loading and Discharging Surveys are recommended to be carried out whenever a cargo is shifted.

Method statements are recommended to be established before any heavy cargo is shipped / handled.

Do you offer service on international or rather domestic level?

We can offer our services with own staff worldwide, however whenever required we can assist our customers as well with regional experienced surveyors from our global surveyor network.

Tell us about projects that you have handled recently.

We currently work on two Havarie Grosse, one in the US and one in Asia were we carry out surveys with own and regional staff.

Furthermore, we recently carried out several loading surveys of windmill components, such as nacelles, hubs and drive trains.

Is surveyance of project operations a competitive sector in Germany? How do you ensure that you will stand out?

With more than 50 years of experience we have earned a name in the industry. Expertise, quality, broad service range, neutrality including loyalty. Furthermore, the acquisition of all services from one single source with our global network and maintaining of close contact to our long-standing customers are valued by our customers.

What made you join the industry?

Both the life career of the founder Capt. Möller and the need for qualified marine experts in the northern region of Germany matched perfectly some 50 years ago. Since then we have grown into a leading marine and cargo survey provider.

What do you like the most about your business?

Our tasks and surveys are never the same, they are always different and challenging. This is what makes it most interesting for all who are involved in customizing our services for our clients.
