The Heavy Lift Group member FOX Brasil coordinated the logistics for a complete biomass plant from EXW Santa Catarina, Brazil, up to DAP Sitio del Nino, El Salvador.
Total volume was around 3635 ftons, including shipments of turbine, generator, transformer, condenser, kiln and structures.
The project consisted of:
– visiting all shippers and getting know the cargo & project expectations
– Checking preliminary packing list and drawings
– Discussing the loading sequence / shipments optimization (respecting the civil works schedule at destination)
– Planning / Presenting the project logistics schedule
– Action plan / Job staring
– Daily loading report
– Vessel positioning and status report
– Quality management
One of the biggest challenges was to find the best way to ship the cargo, considering the shortest possible transit time, the date of readiness of each part of the plant, the loading restrictions from shipper, and the sequence of assemble at destination.
The biomass plant is being assembled at destination and will start the production this year. See pictures.
