Van der Vlist, member of the Heavy Lift Group, has completed a turn-key transport solution of 6 silos to Dublin. Based on a just in time delivery, the two silos with a diameter of 5,40 metre were shipped by barge from Germany. The smaller silos were directly transported by Van der Vlist trucks. All silos were transshipped via the Van der Vlist quay, located at the Moerdijk terminal, into a chartered coastal vessel. Upon arrival in Dublin the goods were transshipped directly onto trucks for delivery to site. By using own equipment and reliable partners for shipping, Van der Vlist managed to deliver all goods within the requested deadline to the project site in Dublin. Van der Vlist operates a privately owned multipurpose terminal in the port of Moerdijk, the terminal has a roro quay and offers over 100.000 m2 secured outdoor and 20.000 indoor warehousing. There are also a variety of possibilities for transshipment and assembly using the terminals cranes and lifting equipment as well as a team of dedicated technical staff.
