The Heavy Lift Group members – Rhenus Project Logistics for the USA and Antonov Airlines for Ukraine – ushered in the New Year by completing a round-trip charter of a rotor that had to be urgently flown for repairs from Ghana to India and back to Ghana after repairs. RPL worked with the client to redesign the skid, while Antonov used its unique loading equipment developed in-house to ensure the bladed rotor fit inside the fuselage. External cranes had to be used for loading and unloading, making a tandem lift to protect both the cargo as well as the unique loading equipment.
