RIEDL MOVES

Industrial power plant components on their journey. As a result of qualified engineers and excellent industrial research, the production of high quality products has a long tradition in Germany. We, as a project forwarder are pleased to contribute our part to this development, by transporting these high quality products safe and always in time to their worldwide destinations. The logistical challenge for this project, was the smooth coordination between pre- and on-carriage in the intermodal transport in ordert o avoid needless standing and waiting times for our client. In this case the intermodal transport consisted of the pre-carriage by a 16-axle modual trailer and the main transport by barge. The turbine was the heaviest part with 143 tons and was transported with the modul trailer to Dresden. After transshipping the turbine in the Port of Dresden by a heavy-duty-crane onto the barge, we were able to start the main transport. Afterwards the barge moved to Aken near Halle at the Saale, where we transshipped the Generator with a weight of 122 tons and three oversized components on the same barge. After that, all five components were transported directly to the Port of Hamburg. Arriving here we unloaded the whole heavy load with a weight of around 300 tons on schedule. Four ISO-Container and several Tautliners loaded with spare parts completed the amount of the order and were transported to Hamburg, as well.
