Shin-Jo Logitech – Transport for the ITER project

Another THLG member involved in the ITER project! Shin-Jo Logitech, member of The Heavy Lift Group for South Korea, recently arranged for the transport of the 1st out of 4 sectors for Vacuum Vessel, on the most important components for the ITER project.

The component was transported from the private berth of Hyundai Heavy Ind. in Ulsan, Korea, to Fos Sur Mer Port in France.

Shipping dimension for Vacuum Vessel sector: 15.00m x 9.82m x 8.60m(H), G/W: 558ton.

5 other components (lifting frame assembly, sector lifting tool and Radial beams) of approximately 780cbm were also transported to be used at ITER jobsite.

Shin-Jo’s scope included:

  • Design, Engineering,  manufacturing, load testing and obtaining CE certificate for special Spreader Beam assembly for loading/discharging the sector for Vacuum Vessel on the vessel.
  • Pick up other components from suppliers to POL by barge and truck
  • Port handling at POL
  • Ocean transportation on FLT basis.
