Van der Vlist member of the Heavy Lift Group recently finished a project that involved the loading of special steel profiles into 40ft box containers. The profiles are to be used as part of large solar energy fields and were transported from Europe to Jordan and the USA. The profiles were transshipped from trailers at the Van der Vlist Terminal in Moerdijk Terminal. Together with a partner specialising in export packing they were re-bundled in order to load the packages in the most efficient and seaworthy way into the box containers. In total 84 containers were loaded over a period of 4 weeks. The Van der Vlist Terminal at Moerdijk is a privately owned multi purpose facility. The terminal has a Ro – ro quay, deep water berth, transshipment facilities as well as assembly, modification and paint facilities where technical staff can offer value added services. The AEO accredited facility also offers 120.000 m2 outdoor, 25.000 m2 indoor storage space and customs boded warehousing.
