Van der Vlist – 25.000 tonnes of sheet piles

Since December 2018 Van der Vlist Moerdijk has been part of project ‘Blankenburgtunnel’, which involves 25,000 tonnes of sheet piles coming through the Van der Vlist Terminal.

Van der Vlist are responsible for offloading the sheet piles from barge, storage and added technical services such as welding. The sheet piles are then transported, by truck or barge, to the project location. With lengths of up to 36 metres this is a challenging project!

The Blankenburgtunnel, also known as the Maasdeltatunnel, will be located east of Maasluis and Rozenburg and will be part of highway A24. The building of the Blankenburgtunnel is planned to be finished in 2021, with the official opening in 2022.
