Van der Vlist are currently in the process of transporting 11 complete wind turbines to Windpark Deil on behalf of Vestas. Each wind turbine requires 12 special transports, making a total of 132 transports. Once complete the total height of each wind turbine will be 207 metre, with a rotor diameter of 136 metre!
The nacelle, drivetrain and hub are transported directly by road from Denmark. However due to the length of each blade at 67 metre and the diameter of the tower section more than 4,5 metre these are too big to be moved by road so must be shipped into a local port then transported by road to Windpark Deil.
