THLG member EZ Link Taiwan handled 2 sets of transformers via heavy lift vessel (Crane: SWL 2×400 MT + 1X120 MT) from Taichung port in Taiwan to Longview in WA, USA.
Dimensions of the cargo were 11.76 x 3.95 x 4.75 m and weight 224,700 kgs each.
Loading from shipside onto vessel board was a seamless operation, as EZ Link project team monitored all procedures such as:
- Longshoremen utilizing forklifts to lift-up sling made of steel wire onto hook/spreader beam/lifting beam respectively in sequence and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) being used to enhance the safety of the lifting point hooked-on sling.
- Truck drivers delivering SPMT from warehouse to shipside.
- Stevedores paying close attention to the loading of cargo from shipside onto board.
- Vessel crews working on lashing/dunnage/wedge/bracing and blocking in vessel hatch.
