Tradelossa – Hauling across the Mexican Border over 400 tons in Gas Turbines.

Tradelossa completed the hauling of two gas turbines between the US and Mexico for two of the most relevant Combined Cycle Plants in Mexico.

The movements originated in the United States, in the city of Yuma, Arizona. Between the two turbines, they covered more than 150 kilometers and Tradelossa was able to complete each venture in only one day of operations.

The first turbine was destined for the San Luis Rio Clorado combined cycle power plant and crossed into Mexico through the same municipality in the Mexican state of Sonora. At the same time, the second turbine traveled a longer distance to the Gonzalez Ortega Combined Cycle Power Plant in Mexicali, Zacatecas, crossing the border through the U.S. city of Calexico.

The highlights of the operations were the use of Tradelossa’s Faktor 5 girder bridge model. Being a state-of-the-art tool, with a load capacity of up to 500 tons and an interior opening of up to 6.57 meters, along side our highly qualified and powerful “prime mover”, one of Tradelossa’s specialized trucks offering the necessary power and maneuverability to perform the movement with the highest standards of quality and safety.

Dimensions:

  • 10.67 meters long, 3.96 meters wide, 4.57 meters high and weighing 216 tons.
