Van der Vlist develops it’s Zeebrugge site

Only 2km from the port of Zeebrugge, Van der Vlist have made further developments on their 50 000m² site, to give them a greater capacity for warehousing and Technical Services.

A new warehouse has been built with a capacity of 950 m² has been built, of which 300m² is racked, taking the total amount on site to 4 500m² indoor, with 700m² racked. This provides sheltered storage, for items of differing sizes.

Two new specialist workshops have been built, with facilities suitable for any kind of mobile machinery- a workshop of 1 150m² including 500m² of specialist painting facilities, and a 450m² heavy duty workshop with 6m high doors and an overhead crane capacity of 20 tonnes, extendible to 40 tonnes. These bring the total workshop space to 4 500 m².

A new washing facility has been installed, more than doubling the size from 125 m² to 285 m² as well as bringing the facility under cover. All of these new facilities compliment the 40 000m² outdoor storage area.

These new facilities will enhance the capacities of the Zeebrugge site, to allow it to enhance it’s capabilities for storing spare stock machinery and parts, and making modifications to machinery before it is moved out to clients. Van der Vlist Belgium managing director Pascal Pannier stated ‘This is a big step forwards for us here, we have been close to capacity for a while now, and it means we will be able to offer more to both existing and new clients.’
